  1. Our Curriculum

Intent

Our provision offers a focused, balanced curriculum which prioritises the teaching of relevant knowledge and skills for Key Stages 3 & 4.  Our curriculum is designed with student need in mind, taking into consideration the individual needs of pupils whilst maintaining aspiration and ambition.

 

Implementation

We work closely with other professionals and home schools to ensure implementation of the curriculum is reflective of pupil need.  The outcomes of baseline assessments inform teaching to develop pupils understanding of key concepts through building knowledge and skills.  Using our teaching model, based on Rosenshine’s principles, we enable pupils to transfer key knowledge to long term memory while identifying pupil misconceptions and gaps in knowledge.

 

Impact

The progress that pupils make enables them to prepare for future learning and employment whilst developing confidence, resilience, and independence.
